Hatching out baby chicks,

6 05 2009

My dad pulled out the old incubator last month and we decided to give it a try, My mom said we hatched out some baby’s before but since I don’t remember it, it doesn’t count.

I talked to a new friend that has some wonderful breeds of chickend and got a few eggs, Well after what seemed to be for ever (you know how slow 28 days go by when you are watching an egg just sit there) we finally got some movement.

Andy and I watched the first one hatch from start to finish. We could even hear the chick peeping befor the egg even had a crack in it. It was SO COOL!

The mighty Bee Hunter,

17 04 2009
We have these Big Black bees that are chewing up our car port and
everything else that is wood around our house, They are terrible little or should I say Big Bees and we have hundreds of them around.

My Dad The Mighty Bee Hunter is out to net and squish these awful bees. He grabs his trusty butterfly net with the home made extend a handle and the hunt begins, The Mighty Hunter standing quietly at the care port waiting for his pry.

Then he spots one and the chase is one,

The Mighty Hunter never slows, he paces him self determined to net his pry,

 the-might-bee-hunter-2
He swings the trusty net Left then Right and stretcher as fare as he can never tacking his eyes off this pry.

Wait! He fills something in his net, could it be? dose he have one of those terrible wood chewing black things?
Yes, Yes, there is one in his trusty net.

Then the Mighty Hunter dose what all good Bee hunters would do Yep, He Squishes the bee and then dumps it out of his net on to the driveway so he can admire his hard work.

Taking down the Christmas tree.

5 01 2009
It is always a sad day for me when I take down the tree,
Christmas is over and the light are down and the house
look so empty and dark.
But, We had a wonderful Christmas, all the family, good food
and even a bit of snow, WooHoo!!
We don’t do much for New Years,  most of the time we just stay at home
and watch TV, This year we went to the show. It was an early showing  so
we weren’t out to late. The movie was good we saw Marley and Me It was
funny but also very sad :(
Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New year.

What a year!

26 11 2008
Sorry, I have been gone for so long.
This has been a very busy year.
to recap.

The year started off with a mans truck running in to the side of my barn in Feb.
He refused to help pay for the damages so till it was all worked out I was with out a barn till Aug.

Then Andy and I where excepted to participate in the Western State Mustang Challenge in Sacramento CA.
We picked up the two mares and had a wonderful time training the girls. I am so proud of Andy for all he accomplished with his horse Gracie Which by the way they are doing wonderful.

We had our annual forth of July camping trip with my high school friends. There is a total of about 15 of us  every year. We all head over to the ocean for about 5 days. we couth a lot of shark Mmmmm, cant wait till we go next year.

My Dad and I where excepted to be trainers in the first Extreme Mustang Yearling Makeover that was held in Reno NV. My dad did very well with his little filly Tess and I had an amazing little gelding Chester.

I have been working with Otter and he just amazes me very day with his learning ability’s.
I worked him yesterday on Side passing over to me when I am on the fence so I can get on him bareback he is great at it now.
See, I’m wimpy I just can not jump that good to get on him any other way.

My other project has been Emmy a 2 year old Palomino mustang filly from Nut Mountain. I adopted her last year. She has been so very easy to work (I sure like the little ones) Andy put her first ride on her in the round pen and she was perfect. She is a small filly at about 13.3 but very well built. Emmy is now looking for her
new forever home.
Emmy ( she is a lot fatter and fuzzyer now)

My husband and I have been doing a lot of wood cutting so we can stay worm this year.
We burn around 6 cords of wood a year, that is a lot of wood cutting. He said we have plenty now,
thank goodness because I don’t want to stack one more price of wood till next year.

Now, it is that time of year and It is getting close to Christmas and yes MudRanch I already have my tree up. I Put it up last night it is 9 foot tall. We went way up the big mountain, played in some snow and found the perfect tree. For all of you that don’t know I’m a BIG Christmas decorator lots of lights.

So, That has been my year so far.
Everything has been good all except the barn thing but that did work out ok.
Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.

Reno was GREAT!!!

19 08 2008
Chester was just Amazing. You could not have asked for a more well mannered little guy.
He was 100% calm, cool and collected. We got our Hip # 305 and then had to sit around and wait till it was our turn to show, because I was in the Pros we where the last group to show.
When it came to our turn I was a bit nervice  but not Chester he was ready to go show what he had learned.
So off we went, I felt that we went though the class great, but that was just my thoughts. We did not find out the results and the placing’s for a couple hrs after the show, when they did read off the placing’s they started at the end and worked there way up to 5th place then they announced the top 5 well, when they said this is the top 5 I got excited because they had not said my name yet so, I knew that I was in the freestyle but, I had no idea where I had placed. They said the second place winner and my heart about stopped as tears came to my eyes, I turned to look at my dad and some friends and said that I am the only one left and at that time they said the first place winner of the Pros is Dixie, I could not believe it Chester and I took First place (I knew he was a special little boy).
Then they said the placing’s for my dads group and Yes, him and Tess took 3rd place so they are off to the Freestyle also. Well, now we did not have much time to get thing set up for the Freestyle so I was going a bit nuts but thanks to some wonderful friends everything worked out good they all jumped in and helped get all my props out in the arena and set up (thank you everyone). When they got the right music on everything went good all my nerves where gone and all I could see or hear was just me and Chester. My dad said that they where talking and said a little bit about me and where committing on Chester and I but I had no idea. I was very happy with how it went and we ended in Chester Bowing. The next morning they announced the placing’s. I was not as nervice about it this time I felt that Chester and I where winners already and it was an honor to just be hear. Then they said in Second place for the freestyle is Dixie and Winchester and hear came the tears again, I could not believe it we took First in our Pro Group and Second in the Freestyle WOW!! As for the Auction Chester and Tess both had a bid on them on Thursday evening I could not believe that, we had not even shown yet. Then on Saturday They did the Auction and Tess was Adopted for $125.00 to a very sweet family and the kids just loved her my dad could not have been happier. For Chester he was the Highest Adopted horse he went for $300.00 The woman that Adopted him Just Adores him and he is going to have a Very Good Life with her she has big plans for him. A friend trailered Chester to his new home and I was going to be at the Stalls when they came to load him up but my alarm went off and as much as I tried to get going to see him off I just could not do it, I could not be there and say by. I new the people that where tailoring him and I new they would take good care of him and see him safely to his new home. I saw all my friends and meet a lot of new ones, The hole experience was wonderful. I would like to thank the Mustang Heritage Foundation and the BLM for putting on the wonderful event.
I have a lot of pics that I will share as soon as I get them on my computer.
