hi dixie….videll up at litchfield told me about you and i too am a volunteer and compliance person here in the mt. shasta/shasta valley area. i have two mustangs of my own up here at ‘unshackled ‘ ranch in big springs and two more coming soon to my place in mt. shasta. the big pretty red dun horse i believe you saw for sale on the ‘down under mustangs’ site is now with me. i just recently rescued him (for the second time) from there. that place is bad news and will tell you more about it at another time. just wanted to let you know i was sorta close to your neck of the woods and maybe we could get together sometime. what’s the difference between the extreme mustang makeover and the western states thing? you horses look great! bye for now, roxanne >>>——->
We have a mustang, gelding, just turned 6-yrs. Have had him since a little colt. We are seeking someone who can assist or guide us thru some training issues. He loves people, has been long-reigned, is saddle broke, knows riding commands (including a great whoa), but has a stubborn streak we are having trouble working around. We live in just north of Reno, Nv. and want to find some one to help us take him to the next level. He has the makings of a great trail horse and nothing bothers him. He does not buck, kick, or bite. He gets stubborn and will not move, and derivations thereof.
Your pictures and info is quite impressive. We have eight horses, and this one has become our challenge.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I READ YOUR BLOG AND YOU DID AWESOME I WISH THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO SEE IT!!! SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS A LOT OF FUN!! WE HAVE BEEN BUSY AROUND HERE. I JUST GOT TWO NEW MUSTANGS ON THE PROPERTY…..THEY HAD AN ADOPTION IN OUR AREA BACK IN MAY AND THESE WERE TWO THAT WERE GOING TO BE RETURNED. SO I TOOK THEM IN ON THE INCENTIVE PROGRAM, AND AM GOING TO FIND THEM PROPER HOMES. I WILL HAVE THE FIRST ONE UP ON THE WEBSITE BY TUESDAY….SHE IS A BEAUTIFUL PAINT MARE! SO IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE SEND THEM THEIR TO SEE HER, I AM HOPING TO FIND HER A HOME QUICK I ALREADY HAD THIS “DANGEROUS ANIMAL THAT SHOULD BE RETURNED” (quote from previous adopter) EATING OUT OF MY HAND YESTERDAY SO I THINK SHE WILL BE A WINNER!! WRITE WHEN YOU GET A CHANCE
My name is Dixie and this is the place where I share with the world about my adventures training wild mustangs and being a contender in the Western States Mustang Challenge. Please follow along as I update the progress on my mustang mare, Bertie and my nephew's mare, Gracie.
Hope to see you around, don't be a stranger. ;)
