Feet are trimmed

26 06 2008
Chester and Tess got there feet trimmed yesterday and they did GREAT!!
After they where done we just called it a day just because the smoke is SO bad that it is to hard to breath out there. The smoke is getting worse we cant even see the mountain right behind our horse the visibility is only 1/2 a mile. So they are just hanging out in the round pen in the shade, I sure hope it rains this weekend.

Things are going good

Chester is one very sweet little guy, he loves to be with people.
He fly sprays, ties, loads in a trailer, stands on a box, crosses the bridge,
Well, lets just say what ever I ask of him, he is mores then happy to do.
He loves to play at liberty.
Right now we have quite a few fires surrounding us ( they say there are 12 right hear ) from the thunder storm you now how that lighting can be.
So it is VERY smokey and that plays heck on my Allergies and Asthma so I am not doing much right now.
I hope that the smoke will clear up at lest a little by Monday I have a trail ride planed with Andy and Gracie. Chester will be joining us I’m going to pony him from my 26 year old mustang Misty she is wonderful with the youngsters.
My dads mustang Tess is doing wonderful. I am so happy for them, This is his first time to train a mustang and he could not have got a better horse.

Were Home

OK, I know I am a bit late getting this out to you all and I am Sorry.
The Challenge was great it was nice to see everyone and all the horses where wonderful , the trainers all did a great job. Bertie was a bit up set about being in a box stall but it all worked out OK.
Gracie and Andy where Amazing! Everyone fell in love with Gracie and the bond that Andy and her had.
they did great in the classes and Gracie was flawless ridding and working in and around the crowds of people.
The night of the adoption Andy was having a very hard time standing in line waiting to put Gracie up for Adoption knowing he might not ever see her again.
Then it was there turn to go out and the best thing every happened to this magnificent teem.
Andy went out there and showed Gracie off the best he could letting people see his much Loved, Bright Red, Gaited little Mustang. The hole time wearing his sun glasses (At Night) so everyone would not see him crying.
But the best thing he could have ever hoped for happened, Patti Colbert asked Andy in the middle of the Auction if he would like to take his horse home Andy could not even talk he just nod ed his head and then Patti bid on Gracie, Then we all heard Sold to Patti Colbert of Colbert Ranch and given back to the trainer Andy. We all started crying and the crowed was yelling. Andy at that time could not hold it in any longer.
Patti had just made his dream come true he is now a horse owner and not just any horse he is the proud owner of a Mustang and not just any Mustang, His Mustang Gracie. Thank you Patti.

Now for Bertie, She was adopted for 650. and lives hear in CA. so I hope to see her again.

Good Bye My Friend

1 06 2008

Andy and Gracie have been going on some trail rides, and I mean TRAIL rides.  You know the 4×4, brush poppin’, boonie whompin’, make your own trail type of ride and they have had the time of their lives.
Well, today Andy came home after a good ride and asked me with a stutter in his voice and a tear in his eye, ”Are you sure there isn’t some way that we can keep her?”  I didnt know what to say to him, it made me start to cry.  Andy walked Gracie around the property, gave her a bath and just hung out with her the rest of the day.  I cannot tell you all how hard this is going to be for Andy to say “good bye.”
